Job description

To deliver high-quality instruction in Key Stage 3–4 Mathematics and Physics while mentoring other teachers in effective pedagogical practices. The teacher will support curriculum implementation, lesson planning, assessment strategies, and ongoing professional development to strengthen STEM teaching across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics and Physics across Key Stages 3–4 with a strong understanding of the Cambridge curriculum.
  • Work with the HOD to design and deliver lessons that align with Cambridge assessment objectives and standards.
  • Work with the HOD to mentor and coach subject teachers, model effective teaching, and lead instructional improvement.
  • Work with the HOD to support departmental planning, moderation, and standardization of assessments in line with Cambridge requirements.
  • Work with the HOD to conduct lesson observations and provide timely, constructive feedback for teacher development.
  • Work with the HOD to facilitate training on differentiated instruction, question design, and active learning strategies.
  • Work with the HOD to analyse student performance data to inform targeted interventions and teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, revision guides, and enrichment programs.
  • Encourage innovation in teaching using digital tools and practical approaches in line with 21st-century learning.

 

Minimum requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education with specialization in Mathematics and Physics.
  • A minimum of 10 years' teaching experience, with at least 5 years in an established  Cambridge curriculum setting.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving high student outcomes in IGCSE exams.
  • Experience mentoring or training other teachers in instructional practices.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge Teacher Guides, assessment rubrics, and examiner reports.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
