Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting and replace plumbing parts that are worn out or spoilt
- Repairing all water leakages to eliminate wastage through repair of faulty pipe connections in the schools
- Notifying supervisors on any material that needs replacement or maintenance to ensure constant flow of water within the schools
- Visually inspecting equipment and operate test equipment such as pressure gauges to determine the cause and location of problem
- Maintaining plumbing tools and equipment and ensuring they are in safe operating condition
- Repairing and assess all plumbing works in vacated houses immediately a tenant vacates
- Clearing obstructions/ blockages from sinks, drains and toilets
- Interpreting blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
- General Facilities Maintenance work
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- Certified plumber under the Apprenticeship and Tradesmen Qualification Act or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years’ experience in a similar role Working knowledge and ability to repair the HVAC, mechanical and electrical equipment systems within the school and industrial commercial environment
